Victoria Victoriette

In 2001, Victoria finally relented, and began to build amps with reverb and tremolo. The response to the introduction of the Victoriette and Victorilux by their customers and reviewers has been overwhelming, but not merely because they know how to do reverb and trem. Granted, they researched many of the classic cir-cuits, lifting some of Leo's genius from the brown and blackface era amps. But they also indulged in their long-standing appreciation for the EL84 power tube, which they felt had not been given proper attention by companies bent onsimply knocking off a Vox. The Victoriette pos-sesses the warmth and clean headroom of a blackface Deluxe, with the character, charm, and dynamic response of a Class A British amp, but it is a knockoff of nothing. You gotta hear it to appreciate it's unique voice, which can be shaped by a wide variety of speaker configura-tions, including a 2x10, 2x12, or 1x12 (my per-sonal favorite). Players become instantly enam-ored with this amp. It will make you smile.

Victoria Amplifier is recognized for having succeeded in recapturing the classic sound, design, and American craftsmanship embodied in the tweed line, while offering players a wide range of subtle and sometimes whimsical variations on a theme. Victoria circuits have always been completely faithful to the originals, using the correct capacitors, resistors, transformers, pots, and eyelet boards. Each pine cabinet is crafted in the precise manner of those built in the '50s, and covered in lacquered cotton tweed that is still woven today by the original manufacturer. The results speak for themselves, and Victoria amplifiers continue to be acknowledged by players and critics alike as clearly superior in construction, durability, and tone among small-production, custom amplifiers built today at any price.
